Lisa Fishler's 100 Mile Bike Ride
It's hard to get the motivation to do a 100 mile bike ride. It's hard to sit on a trainer in the basement, going nowhere, staring at a concrete wall, waiting for spring.
But living with the reality of leukemia and lymphoma is a lot harder. Battling a blood cancer day in and day out is so much harder than any training I will ever do, so I have resolved to do NO complaining! My husband Troy will make me keep my word, too. No amount of posterier numbness or soreness will make me whine or complain. I promise! A lot of you who know me are undboutedly questioning why I would do a 100 mile ROAD race. After all, I don't have the best luck when it comes to road biking. (The two major accidents I have been in involved me on a bike and vehicles speeding through traffic signs.) So undoubtedly, I have road bike issues. However, I can assure all of you that I will be training off-road the entire time. At the end of my training, I will trade in my fat mountain tires for skinny little road tires. The only time I will be biking on the road is when I get to Lake Tahoe. I'm really glad you're checking out my website. This is my first attempt at a personal page, so I'm going all out and updating it frequently with personal pictures, training stuff, and contributors. If you check out all my pictures, you'll get a good sense of who I am and what I'm all about. And don't miss the pictures of my beautiful chocolate lab Leinie. He's available for breeding!
